Ok, first post….can’t be that hard right, everyone else does it so why can’t I. No, I wouldn’t jump off the bridge with everyone else if they jumped too, I’d post jobs so I could replace them J Yes I’m in HR, no I don’t really care for people. I’m a strong introvert and will sit at the back table without speaking unless I have something meaniful to add. So how did I end up in HR, the people field? It was a good career move. I had the opportunity to move into Accounting but it meant it had to do Payroll, to which vehemently protested. To my amazement, I loved it. All the rules and regulations and new things to learn; I was in heaven. For me, payroll was the gateway drug. From there I moved into benefits and employee retention and recruiting.
I’m a full fledged addict now, no rehab for me, no way no how. I was promoted to HR Manager in May 2007, just a title really; I was more of a HR Generalist. I sat for the PHR in December 2007 and passed, yea me! I’m about to graduate with my associates degree in HRM – it took me awhile to decide what I wanted to do with my life but now that I’m doing it, I’m going all out. I have plans to get my Bachelors after a little break from school. I’m with a new company now as essentially a HR Generalist. I’m learning something new every day and it’s great.
So, this is my attempt at SLOWLY moving into the world of social networking/media. I’m remaining anonymous for now; don’t want to get my little feelings hurt publicly
My intent is to post my thoughts about what’s going in the HR world and what’s going on in my little corner of the HR world. Please be kind, I will break.
