Well, I’m all registered for the 2009 conference in NOLA. The company has “selected two” employees to attend. The quotes because are there because I may have hounded my boss about going for the last two months, she really had no choice but to send me. They are paying for three nights and the conference. I’m taking my wonderful husband with me and we are hoping to have a little mini vacation while there. Staying at the Marriott on Canal, might have the ‘hook up’ on some free valet parking….I know a guy who knows a guy.
I’m looking forward to hopefully meeting offline some of the wonderful people I follow on Twitter. There are so many great HR Pro’s out there and I’m truly honored to be in such company as Kris Dunn (kris_dunn), Laurie Ruettimann (punkrockhr), Jessica Lee (jessica_lee), Michael Long (theredrecruiter) and so many more. You guys are witty, intelligent and always have thought provoking discussions.

Glad you can go. Part of the economic slump is the company freeze on outside training or seminars…. so no national SHRM for me. Heck, I’m just trying for time to go to the state conference which is only 35 miles away.
