It has been a strange few weeks at my office. We’ve had stalking ex boyfriends, assault, tragic deaths and air conditioning on life support. A director and I were discussing the state of affairs in our office today and we both wondered what happened to the good news.
There are times when the tables turn and the bad things come at you without a break. During those times is when you appreciate the little things in life, the things you normally take for granted. During bad times, we come together as a people because humans are naturally drawn to each other for comfort and connection– and this coming from an introvert.
Even though most of us moan and groan on Monday mornings, I’m thankful that I’m here to moan and groan.
I’m thankful for my coworkers that make me laugh at stupid things when I try to be too serious.
I’m thankful for my friend that sends me texts of funny names she finds.
I’m thankful for the geese cross our parking lot on their way to the lake – they are so cute.
I’m thankful for all the great people I interact with throughout the day, online and off, that make me think, laugh and ponder life. You guys are great.
I’m thankful we have new hires starting this week, even though it means extra work.
Mostly I’m thankful for being here. In all the tragedies in life, there are equally as happy moments but you have to look for those as they don’t slap you in the face like the bad times.
What in your office makes you thankful?

amen
I’m extremely thankful for a boss who lets me have my way with a lot of things at work. With that it brings a lot of trust, responsibility & credibility which I need to sustain.
@TheHRStore Having trust in your employees is an essential in my book. If you cant trust your people and allow them room to grow, make mistakes and learn from them you have no business being their leader.
@Lucentabella <—-thats my friend that sends me funny names during the day – she's a wonderful friend and I'm thankful for her everyday.
I’m thankful for my co-workers sense of humor, and for being treated like an adult everyday.
@Puf Sounds like a great place to work. Co-workers with a sense of humor is essential for me, I cant work with dull people.
