It’s Friday, if you’re like me your brain is worn slap out and all you can think about is Saturday college football; GO GATORS!
Today we’ll have no chats about exempt employees, HR’s current status or discussions about your certification; unless you just really want to talk about that stuff.
I have four brain teasers; submit your answers in the comments section. I’m sure someone will Google these, but in the spirit of competition try to resist the urge. For those that get all questions correct, I’ll choose a random person to send a present too. Odds are it’ll be a leadership/management book because I have too many. I’ll submit the answers and the winner in the comments section Friday night.
- What were the Canary Islands named after? Your hint, not a bird.
- What color is the Purple Finch? Your hint, it’s not purple
- What color is the little black box that the FAA looks for? Your hint, it’s not black.
- Where did the Chinese Gooseberry get its name? Your hint, not China.
Bonus points if you can tell me another name for the Chinese Gooseberry.
Credit for the questions goes to our new Center Director at my office. The dude has leadership skills running out of his ears and I’m looking forward to working with him. His explanation, after asking our leadership team these questions was perception can be misleading. We perceive things to be one way because of a name or because of something someone tells us but that’s not always the truth. Trust but verify. Dammit, I wasn’t going to talk about HR stuff…..

All these are going to be guesses. But that’s all we have to go on sometimes.
1) Something to do with the color yellow?
2) I’m going to go with yellow. (it’s the trendy thing to do)
3) Red. Because Batman’s special phone is red, too.
4) Maybe because it makes you squinch up your face when you eat one?
Interesting. Not going to Google. Looking forward to hearing the outcome.
@Ben Close but no cigar my friend.

2) Living in Alabama you should know this, its Crimson
3) Its orange with reflective tape
4) It’s a Kiwi, from New Zealand
