The Formula for Success

by adowling on October 9, 2009

Editors Note: This is a continuation of the Formula for Success, part 4 of 4. You will now be returned to your regularly scheduled blog post already in progress.

We’ve reached the end of our formula.  The only thing left is U. <– See what I did there…oh never mind.

Here’s what we have so far:

C1 = Customers

C2 = Care

C3 = Culture

C4 = Cash

C5 = Cost

P = Passion

F = Focus

Urgency, according Merriam-Websters Dictionary, is the quality or state of being urgent, a force or impulse that impels or constrains.

Just because you run around the office like a chicken with your head chopped off doesn’t mean you understand the sense of urgency.  Yeah you have the state of being urgent but force or impulse is impelling you?

Urgency is a critical connector in the formula.  It’s the piece of the formula that drives you do get things done, puts your butt into gear so to speak. The opposite of a Laissez-faire state of mind; don’t let things be or leave them alone.

Apply the formula to your teams, make a way of life for your group.  Appling the five C’s with Passion, Focus and Urgency will equal Success; it’s done so for my office.

Thus concludes our lesson on the Formula for Success. What are your thoughts? Do you think the formula would work for you and your team?
